The Melting Crock

NARRATOR:
Choice.

ORIENTAL MALE:
If this country is a great melting pot, when does the melt-down begin?

NARRATOR:
The melting pot metaphor was a crock!

ORIENTAL MALE:
A crock?

NARRATOR:
Yes, a crock of cabbage, or kim chee, or sauerkraut, or whatever your culture prefers.

ORIENTAL MALE:
Then it’s a land of many crocks.

NARRATOR:
Why not? There’s room for many tastes. We once promised a chicken in every pot, now it’s moo goo gai pan or goolash, sushi or tacos. We’re all God’s children. Why not live like it?
